What are the rules in the way you dress?

No rules. Oh yes, one: to feel comfortable. It’s not sexy being uncomfortable.

Please describe your style in three words.

Relaxed, free, spontaneous.

What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?

Trying to be something you are not. Be the authentic you.

Do you believe in role models?

I believe in feeling inspired by someone’s energy, personality and knowledge, and implementing that into my life.

What are your favourite fabrics?

Stretch cadi, crêpe, chiffon and leather.

Are there any style combinations that you object to?

I am pretty open to many combinations. I suppose it always depends on who they are on.

Which city has the best-dressed men?

I am in between Paris, Rome and Copenhagen.

Would you say that you are conservative or bold?

Bold.

Celebrities and style…

What can I say — it’s not the 90′s or old Hollywood anymore.

Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of.

Shoes and T-shirts.

A man should always look like…

He knows what he wants.

Who taught you what you know about style?

My father, my mother, my grandfather. Living in South Beach (during the glorious years of the 90′s), New York City and Paris.

How do you select your clothing every morning?

Based on instinct and depending on my mood. It takes me fifteen minutes to get ready.

What is your biggest regret?

I don’t really have regrets.

The three essential things a man should know about style are…

Confidence, posture, quality.

Do you have any shopping rituals?

Not being on a schedule or having a budget when I am shopping.

We will never see you wearing…

I never say never.

The most stylish person you have ever seen…

Kate Moss.

What is the first thing you notice on a man?

His scent.

The one image that defined your approach to style…

Early 90′s Versace campaigns by Richard Avedon.

Which new designers do you follow and why?

Christopher Kane and J.W. Anderson. They are doing new and exciting things with innovative fabrics and proportions.

The only article of clothing that a man needs to pay close attention to is…

A great, tailored jacket.

What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?

My collection of vintage sunglasses, all things Dries Van Noten, and my shoes.

Is comfort an enemy of style?

No, I think comfort is key.

Which designer never fails to impress you?

Dries Van Noten.

Who would you like to recommend for My Style?

My incredibly stylish friend, Shala Monroque.
