Please describe your style in three words.
Subtle, unusual, comfortable.
What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?
To be uncomfortable.
Do you believe in role models?
No, I don’t believe in living your life through someone else. Especially if it’s someone you have never met!
What are your favourite fabrics?
I love soft, easy fabrics like cotton, cashmere and lamb leather.
Are there any style combinations that you object to?
Any trends where you can’t avoid showing your underwear or you are MEANT to show your underwear.
Would you say that you are conservative or bold?
I err on the bold side but am conservative in what I am willing to put on display.
What are the rules, if any, in the way you dress?
I try to flatter my body in the best possible way and I change my mind frequently on which parts those are!
Celebrities and style...
Don’t go hand in hand. Money does not buy you style.
One garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?
Jewellery, of course!
Who taught you what you know about style?
My mother and my grandmother taught me about style and I was lucky enough to have two of the most amazing wardrobes to root around in.
How do you select your clothing every morning?
With a sigh…
Your biggest regret is...
Not storing some of my most beautiful outfits properly when I moved to Ibiza. When the time came to bring them out, they were completely ruined and covered in mold.
Do you have any shopping rituals?
Not really. I used to make a day of it with friends and stop for a lovely lunch and glass of wine, but now I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth, shopping has taken a back seat.
We will never see you wearing...
Anything in latex or rubber. Or anything that exposes my knickers!
The most stylish person you have ever met...
This is has to be my good friend Jane Cattani, whom I stay with when I do Paris Fashion Week. She just oozes effortless chic from every pore.
What is the first thing you notice on a woman?
Her jewellery… it’s habit now.
The best word of advice you have ever heard?
Go with your instincts.
