Is comfort an enemy of style?
Absolutely not. Style now is so versatile, you can make anything look cool and sexy by mixing and matching!
Please describe your style in three words.
Cute, sexy, classy.
What is the biggest mistake one can make when getting dressed?
Cheap underwear.
Do you believe in role models?
NO! I believe in a person’s unique individuality and being your own role model.
What are your favourite fabrics?
Silk, shiny leathers, organic bamboo cotton.
Are there any style combinations that you object to?
None. I am an artist so anything goes. :)
Which city has the best-dressed women?
Russia and Japan. Totally different styles and so is my mix—I love Russian glamour combined with cool Japanese futuristic sophistication.
Would you say that you are conservative or bold?
I can be anything. It all depends on the occasion, but definitely mostly bold!
What are the rules in the way you dress?
No general rules, but I mainly dress in a way that suits and compliments my body shape and those curves. ;-)
Celebrities and style...
Are there to influence and inspire but also to ‘dry out your pockets’ and make you want things you don't need and can’t afford! Sorry to be so blunt and honest! It’s all just great marketing and advertising I guess.
Name one garment/accessory that you can never have enough of?
Leggings, of all styles!
A woman should always look like…
She's on fire! Sparkling and shining bright! Meow!
Who taught you what you know about style?
You learn as you go and according to what you see, hear and read. My first influence on style came from my mum—she’s very ‘Russian Glamour’ and growing up with an actress mum who had the look of a ‘Russian Doll’ must have set me off to follow that trend.
How do you select your clothing every morning?
Whatever is appropriate for the day ahead; every day is different. Meeting days, friends days, casting days. It all depends on the part I'm up for or the type of meeting I'm going to and the place. So it's not always up to me but to the character and persona of my day.
What is your biggest regret?
I don't have any as it’s all a part of life’s learning curve and experimentation—one must NEVER look back and regret anything—there is always a reason for things and if you don't know what it is at the time you will do somewhere down the line.
The three essential things a woman should know about style are…
Class, presentation, elegance.
Do you have any shopping rituals?
Not really, unless you are talking about ‘beauty’ as my shopping heaven is Wholefoods—I'm there almost every day and swear by their skin care and cosmetics.
We will never see you wearing…
Real fur! It makes me so sad and angry when I see that people are still wearing it and therefore advertising it! And hearing that it's vintage—I don't buy that excuse as fur is fur no matter how old, young or dead it is! We should be evolved enough now to have a better, conscious understanding of the unnecessary excruciating torture that millions of these poor helpless animals are put through, and for what reason?
Which new designers do you follow and why?
Pritch London, an amazing designer and friend of mine. Very cool, edgy and rock.
Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?
So far Jaden Smith, I must admit the boy has style! And the Olsen twins, those girls rock!
What is the first thing you notice on a woman?
Her handbag, always a giveaway to many things…
What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?
To be honest I don't particularly treasure ‘materialistic things,’ as it's only fabrics at the end of the day. They come and go, wear and tear as do the rest of things in life. With that being said, I do get a lot of attention when I'm wearing my Adidas Originals limited edition wedge heel trainers designed by Jeremy Scott.
Which fashion house never fails to impress you?
Versace and Chanel.
One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is…
A fantastically fitted bra!
The best words of advice you have ever heard?
“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” — Oscar Wilde
