Which new designers do you follow, and why?
Hedi Slimane is by far my favourite, first of all for his kindness. Emmanuelle Alt introduced me to him years ago, and I have always really admired his intelligence and creativity.
Who taught you what you know about style?
I kind of grew up in the fashion world. My father was the editor of French Vogue for fifteen years, so I was always going to all the fashion shows with him as a child.
How do you choose your outfit each morning?
To be honest, I just stick my hand in my closet and it's more my hand who chooses for me… (Laughs). Every morning, I like to take a nice relaxing bath before starting my day of work.
What is your biggest regret?
Not having bought more jackets at the time when Hedi Slimane did his small women's collection at Dior Homme. However, I won't regret this much longer because I will soon be his biggest buyer of all time when his collection comes out for Yves Saint Laurent. (Laughs)
The three essential things a woman should know about style are.
Firstly, to never look vulgar; secondly, never work the 'total look'; finally, know how to mix and combine different items.
Do you have any shopping rituals?
Yes — always doing my shopping very quickly. I cannot stand spending hours in a shop. That's why I love the internet.
We will never see you wearing...
Ballerina pumps.
Who is the most stylish person you have ever seen?
Emmanuelle Alt… I'm not sure whether I like her because of the way she looks, or because she is my best friend. (Laughs)
What is the first thing you notice on a woman?
Her legs.
What are the most treasured items in your wardrobe?
My jewellery collection from Stone. I am so proud of my sister. Trust me, I honestly wouldn't wear these pieces if I didn't like them, even if it was my sister.
The one image that defined your approach to style?
My father...
One article of clothing that a woman needs to pay close attention to is.
Wearing the right pair of jeans.
Is comfort an enemy of style?
No, everyone needs to feel comfortable in their clothes, especially at home or when you travel. It's like an interior; you need comfort and it can look really nice.
Who would you like to see next in My Style?
My sister, Marie Poniatowski.
The best words of advice you have ever received?
Always be yourself.
